Who we are

Woking Catenians are part of an international social network of Catholic men, which exists to provide friendship, companionship, care and mutual support to its members and their families.

What we do

We meet monthly and enjoy dinner in a welcoming atmosphere that provides opportunities to develop new family friendships and/ or to network among those who also share a common Catholic ethos.

Social
There is a varied social programme with events enjoyed by wives and families. There are weekends for Caravanners and campers, golf tournaments, pilgrimages to Rome and the Holy Land and opportunities to meet fellow Catenians worldwide.
Network
Being a Catenian means you’ll get to try out new social activities with a group of new friends. You’ll be able to learn new skills, such as events organisation, finance, leadership, public speaking and many more. These new skills can go on a CV and help your long-term job prospects.
Support
We enjoy the good times together and help each other through the bad times. Through donations to our Bursary and Benevolent funds we ensure that help is at hand when life takes over.
Helping the youth
Catenians help young people by running a national public speaking competition for Catholic Schools; providing support for youth events like Flame; offereing grants through our Bursary Fund to 16-24-year-olds who volunteer to help others in projects around the world.
Service
Catenians help on Disocesan and HPCT pilgrimages to Lourdes and are also active in the community in roles such as School Governors, Parish Councillors, Eucharistic Ministers, Deacons, Catechists, Youth and Scout Guide leaders, Maintenance and Gardeners.
Charity
Fundraising is not our main aim. However, each year we raise funds for our President’s chosen charity. That means on average in the UK the Association donates abouts £300,000 nationally to a host of good causes, whilst having lots of fun!
